The purpose of placing this privacy policy is to enable our users understand how the information they provide are collected, processed and used. It also serves as proof of the agreement you signed up with Vivus Hub in the event you decide to use our services. This privacy policy is effective from 30th of Jan 2019 till further notice. Vivus Hub in its best interest will endeavor to notify you on any changes to our privacy policy but we do ask you to occassionally read it from time to time.
You and our service
Vivus Hub ('we' or 'us') take our users privacy seriously. By using this site, our services and additional product we may provide, you give us full rights to use the information (personal or not) we get from you either directly or indirectly however we deem beneficial to both parties ('Vivus Hub' and 'you'). This information and how we get them may vary depending on the service you use but generally includes, name, email address, location, date of birth and other information to ensure we are talking to a human being and are gotten either from direct use when signing up to 'any' of our services, through our APIs and or through third-party integration we deem beneficial to both Vivus Hub and you. It is important to note that you do not need to create an account to use some of our services features such as viewing events, contacting event organisers and sometimes viewing public profiles. If you do create a Vivus account you must provide information for easy identification e.g username and email. Your username is always public but you can either use a combination of your real name or sobriquet. You can also create and manage multiple accounts to represent the association you belong to (e.g company or personal brand).
Activities on Vivus are largely closed off but some actions are public and in most cases parties you grant access to e.g profile information, events attended or attending and depending on your social interaction you may grant users the opportunity to view your profile, stories and messages. The list you follow, your followers, profiles, events, likes (or other forms of engagement) are public to parties within the app or our system e.g web. This is used to provide our social interaction, ensure you purchase tickets to the right event, enable the organisers to contact you if any problem occurs, serve as proof when contacting us for queries, aggregated for companies who engage in event sponsorship.
We provide features that enable you to communicate privately e.g personal messages. This information is stored on our servers and third-party hosting affiliates (e.g cloudinary image hosting), processed against malicious content and made presentable in other formats. We also use this information to understand who you have communicated with, provide relevant content to you and grant access to the person you are communicating with. Please note the intended receiver holds a copy of the messages and we do not guarantee the information won’t be stored, duplicated or shared.
You are responsible for the event you create, stories you post, messages, map functionality and other information you provide through our services, it is advised you think thoroughly before making it publicly available. In the event you wish to delete informations publicly available, action buttons are provided to do so and are reflected on our services. We would like to highlight some informations are permanently stored and we reserve the right to keep ticket purchased, images, videos, events created, messages, location and monetary identifiers for 3 - 5 years. This is used to solve disputes, prevent fraud and help in our image recognition techniques.
Why we collect them
We use the Information to tailor contents to your taste, identify you when communicating, maintain and provide full functionality such as updating you on our latest products and security update. For example we are able to suggest actions (such as events, post, clothes) based on your previous experience, how often you attend events and social circle. Or with your location information, we use it to tailor our services to you like finding the closest events, which of your friends are attending, fashion trends and news. These actions are supported by our system functionality, for example, location tracking. Depending on what service you use we collect information about your location e.g IP addresses and street address.
We also collect information about links opened, shared or saved. This is used to improve the quality of our services e.g understanding where a purchase came from for promoters, referrals and understanding your interest. This action is complemented by our use of cookies stored on your devices which may grant us access to understanding your website usage, sessions, Vivus Hub related local data, ads and language preferences. Cookies can be disabled on your browser but we do not guarantee the same quality service.
We receive event logs when you interact with any of our services irrespective of creating an account e.g when you visit our website, sign in to our services, interacted with our notifications, use our apps, redirected through a third party e.g twitter or facebook we may collect certain information about you. This information may include, IP addresses, email, name, location, address, age, gender, mobile carriers, operating systems, page visited, referrals, application ID, device ID, phone number, query terms, cookie information and a screen recording of your action on our site. This information is used to update our services and make the most out of your device. This update may include increasing data speed, language options and security update. This service can be disabled depending on the device being used, but it is generally advised not to do so.
Third parties
Advertising expenditures allow us to operate and provide some of our services at a reduced cost. The information described in this privacy policy might be collected by ad publishers to make the advertisement more relevant to you and measure performance. Our ad publishers include Mopub, Facebook advertising networks, their affiliated partners, event sponsors and many more.
In the event, you do host our content on your website, app or other hubs we may receive information about you as described in our privacy policy. We may also receive information about you from third parties who are not our ad publishers such as others on Vivus and Vivus Hub related services who help us evaluate the quality of user interaction and content. You may also choose to grant third-party access to information hosted by us and in this case, the information is passed to these actors. We always try to inform you about the access being granted and the security risk but it is important to read the terms and agreement of this actors. We do not guarantee they receive, process and store your information securely.
We may also provide information to the government on providing a warrant to access your information through or from us. We may notify you if such actions are being taken but we are also subjected to UK laws and may be prevented from taking actions. We may take legal actions to protect your privacy but we do not warrant full protection against any infringement by the government. This is due to the fact that the government may have legitimate reasons to withhold such privilege. Vivus Hub ('we' or 'us') try to protect our users from virus, malicious software and anything we deem harmful to our users, but we do not guaranty your full safety. This infringement of privacy may arise during the use of third parties or unforeseen errors during production. You are using our service at your own risk. Vivus Hub, our workers and formal entities established to provide our services in our name are not liable to any privacy infringement when using third parties or from us unknowingly (was not intended to harm you or your device during production).
